It seems like a lifetime ago. So much has happened since then, from sanitizer shortages to European escapes. Restaurants and nations alike have been forced to shut down, wildfires and riots have devastated California, and Russians tried to influence our election. Heck, it’s hard to remember a time before Zoom meetings galore!

The Last Saturday Night is a brand-new fiction podcast based on the true stories of people navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic, domestically and worldwide, written, directed and executive produced by Jennifer Nash with executive producers Michael Wall, Emily Wall, Mark Netter & Peter Rafelson.
In the first episode, as the warning signs of lockdown rear their ugly heads as sanitizer supplies run dry and the once-bustling streets of Los Angeles are suddenly empty, Gigi (Sherilyn Fenn), a single mother of four and our narrator, is the first among her social circle to realize that everything is about to change. Gigi decides to enjoy the luxury of indoor dining with friends one last time before the inevitable becomes official, and as the rest of the series unfolds Gigi’s family and friends make life-changing decisions that they would not have made pre-pandemic, leading to optimistic, life-affirming outcomes.
Gigi is based on the real-world experiences of writer, director, and executive producer Jennifer Nash, a professional actress, casting director & writer. While the entertainment industry was shutting down production, Jennifer saw an opportunity and switched her focus from film and television towards podcasts, a format that was much more feasible to produce remotely. The stars aligned as Hollywood’s finest, bored and restless in self-isolation, fell in love with her script and jumped on board. Contactless delivery and retrieval of microphones was arranged and from the bitter lemons of an international health crisis, lemonade was made.
The Last Saturday Night explores how we cope during unprecedented times, the bonds we form amidst unprecedented strife, and just how sick everybody is of the word “unprecedented”. As riots erupt, stores burn, and nations shut down, it’s more important than ever to find humor in the everyday, the remarkable in the mundane, and the kindness to support one another despite our differences.
Available now on all platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Audible from Amazon, iHeart Media, Google Podcasts, and TuneIn.
